Plano, TX: Theatre Britain presents the comedy Nobody's Perfect by Simon Williams, opening at 8pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Cox Playhouse in Plano, and running through Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Shy and staid statistician Leonard is anxious to break into print and sends book after book to Love Is All Around, a publisher dedicated to writing ‘for women by women’. His efforts are rejected until he submits a novel, based on his experiences as a single parent, under the pseudonym Myrtle Banbury. When his novel is accepted, Leonard has no choice but to assume Myrtle’s identity! Rated: PG13
Directed by Kevin L Ash, Nobody's Perfect features Sue Birch, Brian Hoffman, Madeleine Morris and Steven Shayle Rhodes. Set design by Bradley Gray, lighting design by H Bart McGeehon, costume design by Shanna Gobin, wigs and hair by Don Hall, properties design by Joey Dietz and Shauna Holloway and with original music by Aaron Fryklund.
Simon Williams is in two films to be released this year, The Viceroy’s House and Simon Curtis’s Good Bye Christopher Robin. He was last seen in the West End in Versailles at the Donmar. Before that he was in the stage version of Chariots of Fire and prior to that he starred as Sir Humphrey in Yes Prime Minister. He was also in the much acclaimed David Hare play The Power of Yes at The National Theatre. On television he was recently in The Rebel, Gallivant, The Syndicat and the acclaimed Bletchley Park. Other TV credits include Sensitive Skin, Lynda La Plante’s Above Suspicion, The Commander, Sense and Sensibility, Midsommer Murders, Casualty, Spooks and - once upon a time - Upstairs Downstairs. He has written six stage plays which have all been successfully produced and two novels, Talking Oscars and Kill The Lights, both of which reached the best sellers’ list. His latest play Someone Else’s Love Story is going into production next year. He is currently in The Archers on BBC Radio 4. He is married to Lucy Fleming and lives in Oxfordshire waiting for visits from his seven grandchildren.
